Opus Dei: Communion of Saints Parish hosts an Opus Dei group. Opus Dei is a Personal Prelature of the Catholic Church that provides formational activities to help lay people seek holiness in the midst of ordinary life.  Grandevue Study Center (a women’s center of Opus Dei in Pittsburgh) sponsors some opportunities for formation at Communion of Saints Parish.

Opus Dei offers Mornings of Recollection for women are similar to a two-hour silent retreat. Their purpose is to help participants sanctify their ordinary life in and through their work, family, social, and recreational activities. The program includes meditations by a priest of Opus Dei, a talk by a layperson on living the Christian virtues, an examination of conscience in front of the Blessed Sacrament, and Mass at noon. There is also the opportunity for silent personal prayer, and the Sacrament of Confession.   A priest of Opus Dei is also available at St. Ann’s Church on some other days for confession and spiritual direction.
